Serena had a fun Valentine's Day at school. She exchanged Valentine's Day cards, played outside and frosted sugar cookies with her friends. Later, she made a heart-shaped lady bug for Mommy and Daddy (featured below).
The three of us enjoyed a nice semi-homemade dinner and Kevin and I found a bottle of unopened champagne left over from our Anniversary. Later that night, after Serena was sound asleep, we caught up on our DVR. Yes, life as a parent is richly rewarding in so many ways.
It seems like just yesterday, but it was already 10 years ago that my boyfriend flew in from Boston to surprise me with flowers on Valentine's Day. I am so glad that boyfriend has become my husband and instead of extravagant gestures, we now sit on the couch together and marvel at a precious laminated lady bug.
